Thursday Thoughts

I'm linking up with Sarah for Thursday Thoughts today! I also kept her Thursday Thoughts picture because, well, it's awesome! She took it outside the Baylor Science Building and since that's where I spent most of my time while I was there, I love it!

1. While browsing the web yesterday I came across an article on Yahoo entitled: Amazing! See Jersey Shore's Snookie Without Make-up. So of course, I clicked on it. And what do you know? She looks almost normal and 10x better than she does when her face is painted. Crazy.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
2. I took a winter-mester last week which almost killed me, but in hindsight it wasn't that bad. But I have a final due tomorrow and a paper due next week. I haven't started either. Here's to starting off the semester right!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
3. We are going to Pennsylvania on Saturday to celebrate my Great Aunt's 90th birthday. That's a pretty big deal and I'm super excited to see all of my family. And they get to meet my super awesome husband for the first time!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
4. I had my first day of class yesterday for this semester. Class started at 7:45 and since I live 40 minutes away I had to wake up before the sun. That wasn't so fun. However, I only have to encounter traffic ONCE this semester because of my schedule and that makes waking up before the sun OK.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

5. Yahoo also posted an article about college majors that are useless. I clicked on it praying mine wasn't on there. (As if I could somehow change it?) Agriculture topped the list. Thankfully that was my 2nd choice.

Tag: You're It!

Last week (maybe the week before?) Sarah at Life of Love tagged me in this fun post. I thought I would have time to do it while I was procrastinating while taking my winter-mester last week, but that certainly didn't happen. I barely had time to sleep. So here it goes!

[the rules]

1. You must post the rules.
2. Post 11 fun facts about yourself on the blog post.
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and then create 11 new questions to ask the people you've tagged.
4. Tag 11 4 people and link them on your post
5. Let them know you've tagged them!

Easy peasy!

[11 facts about rachel]

1. I hate changing lanes while driving in a tunnel. Scary.
2. If I never had to read another school book, I'd be ok with that. I just can't make myself like reading.
3. Bedtime is my favorite time.
4. I got married on a Sunday because it was an even number. I'm weird.
5. I like to imagine one day I'll get my PhD in Marriage counseling.
6. The idea of one day being a counselor scares me to death. That's a lot of pressure.
7. I hate talking on the phone. And if you leave me a voicemail, I probably won't listen to it for at least a week. Just text me.
8. Everyone thinks my younger sister is older than me. Probably because she's tall and gorgeous. Fact: I visited her at Baylor after I graduated and her friends thought I was a prospective freshman. No actually. I'm married and in grad school.
9. I love weddings. So much love in the air, it's hard not to be happy!
10. I wish I had lots of money so I could just buy people presents.
11. Sonic happy hour is genius. I bet they've made so much money off me.

Mark & Laura

This weekend two of my favorite friends got engaged.

I met Mark my senior year of high school. He lived in College Station
where my boyfriend had just moved.
We both ended up at Baylor and were told we should be friends.
(One of the best decisions ever, since He is a great friend to have)

One of the first times I remember hanging out with Mark, sans Frank, was when he invited
me down to College Station to watch his sister Lindsey in a high school production.
On the car ride we talked about many things, one being his future wife.

He told me he had a strong feeling he would meet his wife at camp.
And that he did!

He frist met Laura while working at TBarM in the summer of 2009
and the rest is history.

Laura would stay with me when she would come to visit Mark and Baylor
and ever since I first met her in 2009, we have become close friends.

I love them both dearly and could go on and on about how wonderful they are!
I am so excited to see where the Lord leads them
as a married couple! I know He has some big plans!

So here's to Mark & Laura, two of my favorite people getting married!

Picture-A-Day

One of my goals for 2012 is to document the year with a picture-a -day. I've seen this done as a countdown for those graduating college where they take a picture-a-day for the last 100 days and it seemed fun. I've never been good at keeping a journal, so hopefully I can keep this up!

Here is my photo for January 1st... the very first moment of 2012!
